Today I want to honor a man that not only made my childhood a little bit more exciting but made the world a better place for children all over. I can remember as a child reading

"The Cat In The Hat, Green Eggs and Ham", and others. These were books that only Dr. Seuss could have written. His imagination and style reaches the homes and schools of even children today and probably until the end of time. I can even remember reading them to my own children. This cycle of a series of good reads for children never seems to stop.

Dr. Seuss was born in March the 2nd in 1904 and lived to be 87 years old. In 1991 he died in his home in La Jolla, California. Schools, libraries, and other organizations across the globe are celebrating the life of this brilliant author. Did you know that his real name was Theodor Seuss Seisel? His publications sold more than 6 million copies and were translated into 20 different languages. Dr. Seuss began his career as a cartoonist and adopted his name after attending  the University of Oxford and Dartmouth College. In 1927 he left college to start his career as a cartoonist for Life, Vanity Fair, and other publications. Dr. Seuss has done many great things in his life and who knew that his books would end up on screen in the homes of many. Today as we celebrate the life and legacy of Dr. Seuss. Let's keep his memory alive and think about how we too can impact our society.
